What Flooring Trends Are Popular in West Sussex This Year?
As we move into 2025, homeowners across West Sussex are embracing a fresh wave of flooring styles. Whether a complete renovation or a simple room refresh, new flooring can completely transform a space’s look and feel. At Goring Road Carpet Centre, we’ve seen clear patterns in what our customers choose—and there are some exciting trends to share.
If you’re considering updating your home this year, here are the most popular flooring trends in Worthing, Littlehampton, Rustington, Billingshurst and beyond.
Natural Tones and Textures
This year, homeowners are leaning into calming, earthy tones that create a clean and timeless backdrop. Neutral shades like sand, oatmeal, stone grey, and soft taupe dominate carpet and vinyl selections.
Natural-style flooring, including wood-effect laminate and luxury vinyl tiles (LVT), is also rising. Customers love how these finishes mimic the look of oak, walnut, and pine while offering easy maintenance and excellent durability.
Expert Tip: Pair neutral flooring with textured soft furnishings to create depth and warmth — a popular style in coastal homes across West Sussex.
Herringbone and Parquet-Effect LVT
One of the strongest trends we’ve seen this year is the demand for herringbone flooring, especially in luxury vinyl tile (LVT) form. This elegant, zig-zag pattern combines traditional craftsmanship with a modern twist, making it perfect for hallways, kitchens, and open-plan living areas.
Our Amtico and Karndean ranges include a variety of parquet and herringbone styles that are visually stunning, practical, and easy to maintain.
Why It’s Trending: Herringbone adds visual interest without overwhelming the space, making it ideal for both period properties and contemporary homes.
Engineered Wood Flooring – Timeless with a Modern Edge
Engineered wood remains a top choice for homeowners seeking a balance of beauty and performance. This year, we prefer wider planks and matte finishes, which give a more contemporary and spacious look.
In West Sussex, where homes range from Edwardian terraces to modern developments, engineered woodworks across various settings. At Goring Road Carpet Centre, we offer full installation with the help of our in-house carpenter, ensuring the best possible finish every time.
Did You Know? Engineered wood is ideal for areas where solid wood is unsuitable, such as underfloor heating zones or humid spaces.
Vinyl Flooring for Kitchens and Bathrooms
Vinyl is having a real moment — and for good reason. Modern vinyl flooring is far from the flimsy rolls of the past. Today’s designs are stylish, cushioned, slip-resistant, and often 100% waterproof.
In towns like Worthing and East Preston, we’re fitting more vinyl flooring in kitchens, bathrooms, and utility rooms than ever. Popular styles include marble-effect tiles, patterned geometrics, and plank-effect woods.
Top Feature: Many of our vinyl floors are in stock and can be fitted at short notice—perfect for time-sensitive renovations.
